Sandbar Yoga is a mobile studio; we bring the yoga experience to you! We primarily operate on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland; Cape Charles, Virginia; and along the Nanticoke and Pocomoke Rivers. Just let us know your preferred location, and we'll handle the rest.

If you are sensitive to heat or sunlight, we highly recommend booking during the sunrise or sunset hours in the summer. During the shoulder seasons (April, May, September, October), mid-afternoon sessions are pleasant and recommended.

No yoga experience is necessary! At Sandbar Yoga, we welcome beginners and those with a beginner's mindset to join our experiences. Our approach is inclusive, and we strive to meet you at your level. You'll find a supportive environment where you can explore yoga at your own pace.

Participants should be able to lift their leg up and over the side of the boat and climb on and off the boat as needed. We ensure all safety measures are in place, including life jackets for each participant, whistles, flares, and other USCG required safety gear. You may need to step off the boat into water up to knee deep, so it is advised to wear quick-drying exercise clothes. We have extra sunscreen and bug spray if needed.

The weight limit for our FlowMotion™ mats is approximately 285 lbs.

The difference between our beach yoga and the sound off headset experience lies in how you connect with your surroundings and instructor during the session. Both are instructor-guided yoga sessions conducted on the beach, with yoga mats provided.

In our regular beach yoga sessions, I use a microphone headset connected to a portable speaker. This setup helps amplify my voice over the natural beach sounds like wind, waves, and other beach-goers, but you will still hear those sounds.

The Sound Off headsets offer a unique experience of pratyahara, which is the yogic practice of sensory withdrawal. These noise-cancelling headsets block out ambient noise, allowing you to focus deeply on your practice with the ocean as your dristi, or focal point. Through these headsets, you will only hear my voice and carefully selected music—or you can choose to have no music at all. This technology helps create a personal and introspective experience, enhancing your connection to the practice by isolating you from external distractions.

Yes, we offer pop-up public classes throughout the summer! We partner with the Wildwood Lavender Farm each summer, as well as the Pocomoke River Canoe Company in Snow Hill.
